hey girlies so basically irl I’ve gotten a lot of questions on what some things in astrology mean because it can be super confusing. this is gonna help you figure out what some of your birth chart means and why its important. also ill include some basic info to just overall themes in astrology. u guys can always send me questions on how to interpret your birth chart and if you want me to do personal readings then i will! lets get into it bc this is gonna be long asf. (i think i know what I’m doing)
so lets start off with what the basic ideas are to the different planets in your birth chart

sun:
rules: leo
about: so your sun is your “main” zodiac. when drunk people at the bar ask you “what’s your sign?” you would respond with your sun sign. your sun sign is an overall judgment of who your are, so some people might feel a disconnect with the traits of their sun sign because its such a broad spectrum. the sun controls your ego, basic personality, and consciousness. the different zodiacs have a set of overall traits. this is where a lot of stereotypes are born since its such a wide category (ahem… not all gemini’s are two-faced and not all scorpios are sex crazed demons, girlypops)
moon:
rules: cancer
about: your moon sign reflects your inner thoughts, and can hold different qualities than the sun zodiac. (what i mean by this is a sun in cancer for example is slightly different than a moon in cancer.) your moon sign also controls your emotions and moods , and can affect your instincts and habits. your inner-conscious is deeply affected by your moon sign, and your attitude towards many aspects of life are affected by the zodiac in your moon. many people relate more to their moon sign, so if you’ve always felt like your sun sign isn’t accurate, check ur moon sign ladies!
rising/ascendant:
about: your rising sign is determined from the time you were born and is based on where the sun was on the horizon when you popped out. your rising sign rules your social life and how you appear to others. your rising sign can also affect your looks! for example, a leo might be more unruly and expressive, while a cancer may stick to more cool-tones and have more of a relaxed demeanor. your rising sign can have an impact whether you’re an extrovert/ambivert/introvert as well. basically, the rising sign is the outer you, while your moon sign is the inner you.
mercury:
rules: gemini (that’s me hoes) and virgo
about: mercury can often affect reason and your means of communication. mercury can also change and impact your way of thinking, so those susceptible to mercury’s orbit can be moody, obsessive, over-thinkers. we’ve all been there before kittygirls. if you’re ruled by mercury or have a large amount of gemini/virgo in your birth chart, you can have a lot of nervous energy or anxiousness. most of us get affected by mercury retrograde and thats why we all seem to have shitty periods in our lives at the same time. as the iconic all time low once said, “we go together or we don’t go down at all,” right?
venus:
rules: taurus and libra
about: your venus sign basically controls your love life and artistic nature, so if you ever wonder why your daddy issues get in the way of your love life, your venus sign may have something to deal with it. a lot of times your venus sign impacts the way you show love or view love as a whole. you may be naturally attracted to somebody with the same venus zodiac or someone with the same elemental rulerships of the zodiac in cancer. venus also impacts your artistic nature, and your view on beauty in your life.
mars:
rules: aries
about: just like our lovely aries ladies, mars is fiery and intense. mars impacts your sex life majorly. how you view and value sex can vary depending on which zodiac is in mars, and sometimes if mars signs are different/elementally different a couple might run into differences in what they like in sex or how they value sex. (*cough* if you have a fire elemental zodiac in mars you kinky as FUCK!) although mars isn’t only sex- its also impacts your motivation, competition, passion, and more.
jupiter:
rules: sagittarius
about: jupiter is a tricky one. it basically rules your optimism, luck, personal growth, and goal setting. some people who aren’t super affected by jupiter may have issues with optimism or constantly feel unlucky in their lives, and those who have a lot of sagittarius in their chart or are affected by jupiter may be the opposite, with lots of lucky opportunities. i see jupiter as a huge fortune cookie. happiness can also be ruled by jupiter, and personal image can fluctuate with jupiters orbit.
saturn:
rules: capricorn
about: saturn is ruled by capricorn, who often can be stubborn and driven, and thats exactly what saturn is. saturn basically rules your ambition, drive, discipline, structure, and responsibility. capricorns and those who have a lot of capricorn in their birth charts are comfortable under pressure, and understand boundaries. knowledge and tradition is a huge part of saturns traits, and reliability and stability comes along with saturn. though selfishness, stinginess, frustration, and disappointment can be negatives with being affected by saturn/capricorn.
uranus:
rules: aquarius
about: if you can get past the fact that uranus sounds like ur anus, you can start to understand the seriousness of it. uranus revolves around your future. this planet can intimidate many, because at some points in its orbit you can experience super unpredictable changes and reform, even revolutions or realizations. with your personality, uranus affects your uniqueness and eccentricity. so when jughead said “im weird, im a weirdo,” we can all infer that he was being affected by uranus, or has a lot of aquarius in his birth chart.
neptune:
rules: pisces
about: now listen, i think we all know a pisces (or several) who has ruined our lives, or made them great in one way or another, but that doesn’t completely reflect neptune. if you think about it, neptune is mainly ice and water, reflecting the water sign- pisces. neptune as a whole rules over your dreams, imagination, and intuition. another thing that neptune plays with is your spirituality. those impacted by neptune are usually very kind, forgiving, and naturally wise due to their faithful nature. they also may feel that they’re connected to the universe or religion, and are less susceptible to be nihilistic and materialistic. the negatives that may go along with those who are impacted by neptune can be over-sensitivity, naivety, and desperation. something thats kinda dope though is that these people have a higher chance of being psychic due to their overload of intuition and connection to the universe.
pluto
rules: scorpio
about: pluto is the god of the underworld, so you can expect some deep shit to be under plutos rule. plutos orbit is extremely slow since its on the edge of our solar system, so its affects may be gradual or may take a while to manifest. pluto can rule your self-transformation, power, and the death/rebirth cycle. you might be thinking wtf girly death/rebirth cycle? what i mean by this is that if you fall, you can pick yourself back up, and if you dig yourself a grave, you can get yourself out. the traits of those heavily ruled by pluto are restlessness, motivated, passionate, and a truth-seeker. though some negatives of pluto are stubbornness, extreme intensity, and relentlessness. at different points in plutos orbit, such as retrograde, you might uncover some hidden secrets and solutions may reveal themselves. thats some scary shit.
